Yin yoga is a relaxing, meditative practice where specific poses are held for extended periods (typically 3-5 minutes). The practice is designed to target the joints and deep connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and spine in order to strengthen and lengthen them. This is a great class to help to increase circulation through the body's energy pathways, improve flexibility and posture, release trauma in the body, and encourage mindfulness. Yin is a perfect compliment to balance more vigorous yoga practices or activities like running, cycling, and cross-training. This class is suitable and encouraged for all levels of practitioners.
